The FA wanted to secure £550m funding from the Government for grassroots football facilities. As part of this, they were keen to raise awareness of existing FA investments in community facilities and initiatives across England.

Field connected MPs with their local County Football Association to raise awareness of grassroots investments and initiatives in their constituencies. We delivered a programme of interactive visits for over 30 MPs to facilities and clubs, encouraging MPs to don their football boots and take part in training sessions and referee matches. This was complemented with direct engagement with Government and events in Parliament, including bringing the FA Cup to Portcullis House.

We also organised a Westminster reception which launched a report on the economic and social benefits of grassroots football where MPs were asked to sign a pledge board calling for funding which was supported by mental health and youth charities (pictured).
