CASE STUDY
EDGWARE TOWN CENTRE
At Field we thrive in the most complicated and complex stakeholder environments and specialise in long-term, large-scale masterplans. For the past five years we have been working with Ballymore and Places for London on their transformation of Edgware Town Centre.
OVERVIEW
In the face of a vocal and sustained opposition campaign, we devised and executed a comprehensive public consultation and stakeholder engagement programme to inform, involve and build advocacy across both traditional and online channels.
This saw more than 3,500 people engage in person across more than 170 consultation events and meetings with a further 35,000 online.
Our programmes included a blend of targeted stakeholder engagement and a range of consultation and information events supplemented by community focussed activity to build trust with locals amid misinformation and vocal opposition.
This included everything from summer fairs and community hubs to local funding initiatives and art exhibitions with schools.
OUTCOME
In July 2025, following five years of consultation and engagement, the London Borough of Barnet granted consent for one of the most complex and significant town centre regeneration schemes in London. This £1.7bn project will deliver over 3,000 new homes, 12 acres of green and open space and almost half a million square feet of new commercial space.
